Saiju Kurup's Sony LIV series Jai Mahendran goes on floors

The show is billed as a political drama

It was recently announced that Saiju Kurup would be headlining Sony LIV's debut Malayalam original series, Jai Mahendran. On Thursday, the makers commenced shooting in Kollam. Billed as a political drama, the show has Rahul Riji Nair attached to it as the writer, producer, and showrunner. His former assistant Srikanth Mohan is directing the series, 

Jai Mahendran has Saiju Kurup as a corrupt deputy Tehsildar corrupt officer who believes in getting things done through powerplay and using his influence within the system. The show focuses on how he plans to sabotage an entire system in an attempt to safeguard his job and restore his reputation. Along with Saiju, the cast also includes Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Miya George, Suresh Krishna, Maniyanpilla Raju, Balachandran Chullikad, Rahul Riji Nair, Vishnu Govindan, and Sidhartha Siva.

Saiju Kurup's upcoming slate includes Janaki Jaane, Pappachan Olivilanu, Porattu Nadakam, and Written and Directed By God.
