Actor Sreenath Bhasi has been arrested by Kochi's Maradu police after a complaint filed by the female anchor of an online portal accused him of rude and inappropriate behaviour. The actor, whose actions during a promotional interview of his recent release Chattambi invited brickbats from all corners, added fuel to the fire when he demonstrated similar behaviour towards an RJ of a radio programme.

The actor is charged under IPC sections 354a, 509, and 294b.

Chattambi director Abhilash S Kumar has maintained that Sreenath Bhasi should go through the legal consequences for his actions, which he said were "completely unacceptable."
