Grammy award-winner Rickey Kej to compose music for Tovino's Adrishya Jalakangal

Directed by Dr Biju, the film also features Nimisha Sajayan and Indrans

Rickey Kej, the Grammy award-winner, has been roped in to compose music for the Tovino Thomas-starrer Adrishya Jalakangal. Tovino took to his social media handle to make this announcement on Tuesday, marking the occasion of World Music Day. Directed by Dr Biju, the film also features Nimisha Sajayan and Indrans. 

Adrishya Jalakangal is produced by Radhika Lavu under the banner An Ellanar Films Production in association with Tovino Thomas Production and Mythri Movie Makers. It will be Mythri Movie Makers' first Malayalam production.

Kej is an American Indian popularly known for composing music that emphasizes environmental consciousness. The music composer has won two Grammy awards for his albums, Winds of Samsara (2014) and Divine Tides (2022). Adrishya Jalakangal will mark the composer’s debut in Malayalam cinema. Earlier, Kej had composed music for Kannada films – Accident (2008), Venkata in Sankata (2009) and Crazy Kutumba (2010).

According to the makers, Adrishya Jalakangal will depict war as a man-made disaster. The film will explore society's struggles for existence, love, peace, justice, relations, and sanity through its characters.

Meanwhile, Tovino who was recently seen in Vaashi has a handful of projects in the pipeline including ThallumaalaNeelavelicham and Anweshippin Kandethum.
