A few days back, multiple media outlets mentioned that director Rosshan Andrrews' Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Salute was selected for the 2022 edition of the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. However, the Salute team has confirmed that the news is false. The film's production controller Sidhu Panakkal confirmed the same to Cinema Express.

Meanwhile, the release of the investigation thriller, which has a script by Mumbai Police-fame Bobby and Sanjay, has been indefinitely postponed owing to the current pandemic situation. Theatre chains have withdrawn bookings following the update.

In Salute, Dulquer essays a sub-Inspector from Kerala Police named Aravind Karunakaran. Diana Penty plays the female lead, with Manoj K Jayan, Alencier Ley, Binu Pappu, Vijayakumar and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy among the other actors in the film.

Jakes Bejoy (Ranam, Ayyappanum Koshiyum) serves as the music composer. Aslam K Purayil shot the film, with editing by Sreekar Prasad.

Dulquer's Wayfarer Films is bankrolling Salute as the company's fifth production venture.
