Kaapa, the upcoming Malayalam film directed by Shaji Kailas, is set to release on December 22.  The recently released trailer promised an action-packed socio-political thriller. A few weeks ahead of the film's release, the makers have begun to release the character posters. 

On Monday, they released a poster of Asif Ali. The actor plays a character named Anand in Kaapa. Apart from him, the film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Aparna Balamurali and Anna Ben in the lead roles.

Kaapa also features Dileesh Pothan, Nandu, Jagadish, Biju Pappan and Senthil Krishna. The film is based on the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 2007,  popularly known as the Kaapa act. It aims for effective prevention and control of certain anti-social activities in the State of Kerala. GR Indugopan has penned the film's story, screenplay, and dialogues.

Dolwin Kuriakose, Jinu Abraham, and Dileesh Nair are producing the film under the banners of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) Writers Union and Theatre of Dreams. Mumbai-based Yoodlee Films are also on board as the producers. The technical crew includes cinematographer Jomon T John and editor Shameer Muhammed.
