Speculations are rife that Mohanlal is planning to team up with director Ratheesh Balakrishna Poduval, who is fresh from the success of Nna Thaan Case Kodu. As per reports, the two are teaming up for a Kasargod-based film which will be produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla of Moonshot Entertainment. It is worth a mention that the producer is close friends with both Mohanlal and Ratheesh. He had produced the star's 2018 film Neerali and the director's debut, Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25.

Mohanlal is currently working on Ram with Jeethu Joseph. If reports are to be believed, the rumoured Ratheesh project will begin after the completion of Ram.

Mohanlal has multiple other projects lined up. He recently finished shooting for his directorial debut Barroz and the Netflix film Olavum Theeravum. He also has the Shaji Kailas directorial Alone and Vysakh's Monster getting ready for release. The superstar had also recently confirmed Lucifer's second part Empuraan and Vrushabha, a mulitingual film with Kannada director Nanda Kishore.
