Varaal, the upcoming Malayalam film starring Anoop Menon, Prakash Raj and Sunny Wayne, has been censored with a U/A certificate.

Produced by PA Sebastian under the Time Ads Entertainment banner, the film is written by Anoop Menon and directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam.

Billed as a political film, Varaal reportedly explores the contemporary political system. The film also features actors Renji Panicker, Gowri Nandha, Suresh Krishna, Shankar Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Nair, among others.

While music is composed by Gopi Sundar, the cinematography is handled by Ravi Chandran and editing is done by Ayoob Khan. NM Badusha is on board as the project designer, and Ajith Perumpilly is the project designer. Meanwhile, Kannan, who last directed Udumbu, has the Arjun Sarja-starrer Virunnu awaiting release.
