Mammootty, Ranjith to start shooting for Kadugannawa Oru Yathra next week

Lijo Jose Pellissery was initially supposed to direct the film

We had earlier reported about Mammootty and Lijo Jose Pellissery teaming up for Kadugannawa Oru Yathra, a segment for the upcoming Malayalam anthology for Netflix based on the stories of MT Vasudevan Nair.

Since Lijo is busy with the post-production of Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, also starring Mammootty, he has been replaced by veteran director Ranjith. The makers are planning to start shooting in Sri Lanka on August 16. A 4-day brief schedule has been planned there.

Kadugannawa Oru Yathra is based on MT's memoir of the same name which recounts events during his visit to an international conference in Sri Lanka while serving as a subeditor in Mathrubhumi.

The upcoming Netflix anthology also has films helmed by directors Priyadarshan, Rathish Ambat, Mahesh Narayanan, Shyamaprasad, Jayaraj and MT's daughter Aswathy Nair.
