A Sharadhaa

Amid controversies, a pulled down trailer, and censorship hurdles, Prem says KD: The Devil is not about glorifying violence but about how circumstances shape people.

In an exclusive conversation with A Sharadhaa for Cinema Express, he reflects on the Kannada film industry, saying the support system is missing today, raising concerns for both filmmakers and newcomers. Set in 1970s Bengaluru, KD blends underworld drama with emotion.

“Blood is thicker than water,” says Prem, calling it as much a family story as a violent one. Led by Dhruva Sarja, the film also stars Ramesh Aravind, V Ravichandran, Sanjay Dutt, and Shilpa Shetty. Reeshma Nanaiah, the female lead, also speaks about her role and working with Prem ahead of the April 30 release.
