Marathi actor Upendra Limaye, known for his work across multiple Indian languages, is set to make his Kannada debut with an upcoming film starring Rishi in the lead. The yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by Kishore Bhargav, who has spent years honing his craft under filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. Kishore previously directed the Kannada film Stalker, and this marks his third outing as a director. The makers are currently putting together the cast, with more announcements expected soon.

Upendra Limaye, a familiar face in Marathi cinema and a noted multilingual actor, will play a pivotal antagonist in the film, setting him up in a face-off against Rishi. The actor has also appeared in films such as Animal and Peddi.

The makers describe the upcoming film as a fresh story, with Kishore looking to bring his experience working under Ram Gopal Varma into a different cinematic space. The film is produced by Vasanth Hange under the Hanges Sai Visions banner, with Srikanth G Kashyap serving as executive producer.

Somasekhar is handling the dialogues, lyrics and editing, while Ananth Bharadwaj is the cinematographer and Skanda Kashyap will compose the music.

With casting currently underway, the team is planning to begin filming in November. Further details about the film, including its title and the rest of the cast, are expected to be announced shortly.
