Yogaraj Bhat hails Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Anant Nag: He is an ambassador of Kannada language and culture

The conferment of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024 to veteran thespian Anant Nag has triggered widespread celebrations, with congratulatory messages pouring in from political stalwarts, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, as well as celebrities across film fraternities.

Joining the chorus of praise, filmmaker Yogaraj Bhat, who has directed Anant Nag in celebrated outings, including the evergreen blockbuster, Mungaru Male, shared a moving tribute highlighting the senior actor's cultural stature.

"Alongside his acting, Anant Nag sir can truly be described as an ambassador of the Kannada language, the state's culture, and the very sensibilities of the public. As an admirer, I bow to his complete persona. The feather of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in his cap today is a matter of boundless joy for me as a fan, and personally, I feel this is a celebratory moment for the entire state."

Bhatru concluded his tribute with traditional reverential salutations:

"Blessed are you, Anant sir. Salutations to your monumental achievements," he mentioned.

The veteran actor will receive the honour at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Kevadia, Gujarat, on September 22.
