The teaser of Pyaar introduces an unexpected father-daughter pairing, with Ravichandran playing Rashika Shetty’s father in the Kannada film. Directed by S Supreeth, the film combines a young love story with the emotional relationship between a father and daughter.

Produced by H S Nagashree under S M Productions, Pyaar stars Rishwin and Rashika Shetty in the lead roles, with Ravichandran in a pivotal part. Supreeth has written the story and screenplay and directed the film.

The director says the film centres on Atheeva, a daughter whose attachment to her father drives her to take major risks. “Along with the love story, the film looks at the relationship between a father and daughter. It is about how far a daughter can go for her father and what she is willing to risk for him,” he says.

Supreeth also points to the performances as an important part of the film. “Rashika has a substantial role that carries the film. Ravichandran has brought much more to the father’s character than we had imagined,” he says.

For Rashika, Pyaar is her second film after Manada Kadalu. Her character Atheeva is a young woman who is willing to do anything for her father. “When I watched the teaser, I remembered everything from the first day of the shoot. Making a film and taking it to the audience is not easy. I have got an emotional role in only my second film, and that has been special,” she says.

The film has been shot across Kashmir, Rajasthan and Andaman, as well as Mangaluru, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru and Bengaluru. Palani D Senapathi has composed the music, while K S Chandrashekar is the cinematographer.

Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Kunal Ganjawala, Vijay Prakash, Rajesh Krishnan and Palak Muchhal have sung the songs. Achyuth Kumar, Vijay Suriya and Shankar Ashwath are also part of the cast. The makers are planning an October release.
