As we previously reported, actor Aadi Saikumar’s high-concept multilingual project with director Navarrasan has officially locked its title. Billed as a grand divine mystery thriller, the film has been titled Aadi Rudrra. Marking the festive occasion of Dasara, the makers unveiled an evocative first-look poster that offers a glimpse into the film’s atmospheric, mythological canvas.
The striking poster presents a transformed, Aadi Saikumar sporting battle gashes across his back and clad in a traditional maroon dhoti. He is seen holding a consecrated brass trishula (trident) while standing inside a flaming mystical mandala. Facing him is a colossal, mountain-sized manifestation of Lord Shiva/Rudra with a glowing third eye, crescent moon, and multiple arms brandishing weapons amidst thunderous clouds. Surrounding the clearing, a mob of villagers holding flaming torches and ceremonial cattle flank the terrain, set against a riverbed in the foreground—signaling a narrative deeply rooted in folklore, sacred rituals, and divine retribution.
Set against a retro backdrop spanning between 1960 and 1990, the film has story and screenplay penned by Navarrasan. The project marks the third production venture for Prashanth G Rudrappa under his Trishul Entertainments banner, following successes like Dandupalya and the Golden Star Ganesh starrer Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi.
The film boasts a solid technical crew, headlined by acclaimed music director B Ajaneesh Loknath (Kantara, Vikrant Rona), who will compose both the soundtrack and original score. Cinematography is handled by AJ Shetty, with publicity designs crafted by Kaani Studio.
Aadi Rudrra is slated for a simultaneous release in five languages—Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. Shooting is scheduled to commence in January, with details on the female lead and extended ensemble cast expected to be revealed soon.
