Beyond Rocky, Raaya, or Ravana, at home, Yash is proudly 'Radhikapati'

Rocking Star Yash took time off from mammoth box-office figures and cross-border ambitions to spotlight what truly anchors him, his wife, Radhika Pandit

When an actor stands at the centre of an unprecedented international co-production, the conversation is usually dictated by scale, budgets, and technical wizardry. At the Bengaluru promotional event for Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological magnum opus Ramayana, co-producer and star Yash checked all those boxes with customary composure. Yet, what turned this press meet into an intimate evening was the actor stripping away his larger-than-life screen persona to talk about humility and domestic grounding.

Looking out into the gathering where his wife, actor Radhika Pandit, was seated, Yash affectionately addressed her as his "own Sita". As women are conventionally expected to adapt their identities post-marriage, Yash took a sharp detour back to classical antiquity.

"In ancient times, the honour was reciprocal, Lord Rama was revered as Sitapathi. No matter what roles I take on in cinema, whether audiences call me Rocky, Raaja Huli, Raaya, or now Ravana, the moment I step through my front door, I am simply Radhikapati."

Yash wasn't delivering a crowd-pleasing soundbite. He underlined that an artist's ability to take staggering career risks, pursue wild cinematic gambles, and endure intense public scrutiny is contingent upon having an emotional anchor at home.
