National Award-winning filmmaker Manoj Kumar's latest Kannada release, Premada Oorali, which has been setting the box office registers ringing with houseful shows across Karnataka, has now found a passionate admirer in Upendra.

Moved by the film’s narrative sweep and technical polish, the actor-director reached out directly to Manoj Kumar over a call to laud the effort and express an earnest desire to meet him in person.

In a candid voice note shared with the filmmaker, Upendra made no secret of his excitement: "Namaskara, this is Upendra speaking. I just watched your film Premada Oorali. It is truly extraordinary. I felt a strong urge to have a long conversation with you. Let’s meet and chat whenever you have some free time. I know you must be swamped with the film’s massive success right now, but please do call when you get a breather. I really want to meet you in person, give you a tight hug, and convey my appreciation."

The A and Om director, celebrated for his sharp sensibilities in screenwriting and craft, reserved high praise for the film’s overall execution, calling it a rare, seamless effort. "Every single performance, the writing, the screenplay, the dialogue delivery, and the music have blended exceptionally well. It is a wonderful film where you struggle to point out a single flaw. My heartfelt thanks to you for presenting Kannada cinema with such a beautiful, poetic, and extraordinary work," he added.

Produced jointly under the banners of Vanilla Entertainments and Janakamma Productions by Mamatha Devendra M and Suresh Kondeti, alongside a handful of co-producers, Premada Oorali features an ensemble cast led by Rangayana Raghu, alongside Shree Raam, Thapaswini Poonacha, Ramika Shivu, and Govinde Gowda in prominent roles.

On the technical front, the rural romantic drama boasts a screenplay co-written by Devendra Medarametla, with visuals captured by cinematographer Rajkanth SK, music scored by Sunaad Gowtham, and editing handled by Harshith Prabhu.
