Late actor-director Dileep Raj had recently ventured into the growing world of micro-series with Love Punch, a romantic drama streaming on the Bullet platform on ZEE5. The project has now gained significance following the filmmaker’s sudden demise due to a heart attack.

Known for his work as an actor and director in Kannada television and cinema, Dileep Raj had helmed Love Punch as part of the emerging “micro web series” trend, where stories unfold through one-minute episodes designed for mobile audiences. The series stars Mouna Guddemane and Sharath Padmanabh as Nandini and Preetham, respectively. The duo are college rivals whose relationship slowly transforms into love amid misunderstandings, emotional conflicts, and family pressure.

The makers of Love Punch recently paid tribute to Dileep Raj, thanking him for his creative vision and leadership on the project. The team described the series as a dedication to the late filmmaker, acknowledging the passion and perspective he brought to the romantic drama.

The teaser of the series has also drawn attention for presenting actress Mouna Guddemane in a glamorous and bold new avatar, quite different from the traditional roles she is known for on Kannada television. However, beyond the makeover and youthful romance, Love Punch now stands as one of the final directorial works associated with Dileep Raj and his attempt to explore a fresh storytelling format for digital audiences.
