As actor-turned-politician Vijay officially took charge as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, fresh discussions have begun around the release of his final film Jana Nayagan. Fans, who have been eagerly waiting for an update on the film, are now hopeful that the delay surrounding its release will finally be resolved following Vijay’s swearing-in.
However, the film is still awaiting CBFC certification. Producer Venkat K Narayana shared the update while attending Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony in Chennai. Speaking to the media, he said, “I am extremely happy. Everyone thought Jana Nayagan was just a film. But now Vijay has truly become Tamil Nadu’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ (people’s leader). We are waiting for the CBFC certificate. The moment we receive it, we will release the film.”
Venkat K Narayana’s appearance alongside Vijay has itself sparked conversation in recent days. Earlier, when Vijay met the Governor at Lok Bhavan to stake claim to form the government, the KVN Productions producer was seen accompanying him, and his presence raised several questions on social media, with many asking why he was part of the delegation.
Meanwhile, Jana Nayagan continues to face uncertainty over its release. The film, which was originally scheduled to hit theatres on January 9, has still not received censor clearance even after four months, leaving fans waiting for an official release announcement.
