Actor-comedian Chikkanna is all set to marry his fiancee Pavana on August 29 and 30 in Mysuru. The couple, who got engaged last year, will exchange vows at Spectrum Hall, where the wedding celebrations are expected to be attended by several members of the Kannada film industry.
Pavana, an engineering graduate from Mahadevapura village in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district, has largely stayed away from the public eye. The wedding marks the couple's next milestone after their engagement last year.
Chikkanna has been one of Kannada cinema's most recognisable comedians for over a decade. He rose to prominence with Yash's Kirataka and went on to carve a niche for himself with memorable performances in films such as Raja Huli, Adhyaksha, Bul Bul, Airavata and Kotigobba 2. Over the years, he has shared screen space with many of the industry's leading actors and has appeared in more than 200 Kannada films.
He also made a successful transition from comedian to leading man with Upadhyaksha. His next release is Lakshmiputra.
Before making his mark in cinema, Chikkanna performed comedy shows with the Mysuru Drishya Kalavida troupe and later appeared in a comedy programme on Udaya TV, experiences that paved the way for his film career.
With the wedding dates now confirmed, the celebrations are expected to bring together several actors, filmmakers, and technicians from the Kannada film fraternity. More details about the ceremony are likely to be announced closer to the event.
