For millions of fans, September 2 is the day they celebrate Kiccha Sudeep's birthday. But another date holds a special place in the actor's life and career—July 6. It is a day that changed the course of his cinematic journey not once, but twice. While Huchcha gave him the iconic title of "Kichcha" and established him as a mass hero in Kannada cinema, Eega introduced him to audiences across India and earned him widespread recognition. This year marks 25 years of Huchcha and 14 years of Eega, making July 6 one of the most memorable dates in Sudeep's professional life.

Although Sudeep had already drawn attention as a leading actor with Sunil Kumar Desai's Sparsha (2000), it was Huchcha, directed by Om Prakash Rao and released on July 6, 2001, that proved to be his breakthrough. A remake of the Tamil blockbuster Sethu, the film showcased Sudeep in a demanding role that required both intensity and emotional vulnerability. His powerful portrayal earned him awards and the title "Kiccha," a screen name that has remained synonymous with him. The film also established the mass image that would define the next phase of his career.

Exactly 11 years later, on July 6, 2012, another landmark arrived with SS Rajamouli's Eega. Released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, the fantasy blockbuster introduced Sudeep to audiences across the country. Though he played the antagonist, his stylish screen presence and commanding performance left a lasting impression, making him one of the film's biggest highlights. The role brought him several honours and opened the doors to a wider audience beyond Kannada cinema.

As both films reached significant milestones on the same date, Sudeep shared an emotional note of gratitude on social media in response to a fan's message. "Thank you to everyone who gifted me these two unforgettable gems in my life. They are forever etched in my heart," he wrote.

The actor is currently shooting for Anup Bhandari's Billa Ranga Baashaa.
