Actor, producer and politician Anil Shetty, who is set to make his lead acting debut with director Simple Suni's upcoming sci-fi social thriller Lambodara 2.0, has congratulated two of India's most celebrated global women leaders—Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson of Biocon, and Dr. Gita Gopinath, former Chief Economist of the IMF.

Anil shared a heartfelt social media post after meeting the two trailblazers at the UK India Awards, hosted by the India Global Forum in London, where Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

In his post, Anil praised both self-made leaders for elevating India's stature on the global stage. He emphasised that when women are given equal opportunities instead of being restricted by invisible societal barriers, they have the power to shape a stronger and better future for the world.

He further stressed that opportunities should be based on talent, capability and merit—not gender, urging society to create a level playing field for women across all sectors.

Anil also acknowledged Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw as one of his mentors, crediting her global vision and leadership for playing a significant role in shaping his own outlook.

On the professional front, Anil Shetty is gearing up for his silver screen debut as a lead actor with Lambodara 2.0, directed by Simple Suni. The science-fiction social thriller is slated for release later this year.
