The motion poster of Shikhandi was unveiled recently. The film is produced by Pola Praveen Kumar under the Pola Movies banner, and directed by Gurumurthy V.

After directing Marakastra, Gurumurthy now turns to a different canvas with Shikhandi. The motion poster was launched by producer Sanjay Gowda, and directors Jadeshaa K Hampi and Naveen Reddy, who extended their best wishes to the team and expressed hope for the film’s success.

Speaking at the event, director Gurumurthy revealed that the character of Shikhandi from the epic Mahabharata forms the core inspiration for the film. In the epic, Shikhandi is reborn to avenge past injustice — a powerful idea that serves as the foundation for this story.

Built around this central theme, Shikhandi blends suspense, thriller, horror and comedy elements within a family-oriented narrative. Gurumurthy added that producer Pola Praveen Kumar immediately came on board after hearing the story. With the support of the technical team and cast, the film has shaped up well. Shooting has been completed, and with the motion poster now out, the team is aiming for a May release. He also thanked the dignitaries who unveiled the poster.

Producer Pola Praveen Kumar shared that he hails from Ballari and that Shikhandi marks his debut production. He cited two main reasons for backing the project: the strength of the story and director Gurumurthy’s passion for cinema despite being specially abled. “We are bringing a good film to audiences and seek your encouragement,” he said.

Lead actor Yuvaraj Gowda admitted that he was initially surprised when he heard the title. However, listening to the story convinced him. A native of Mysuru, this marks his debut as a hero, and he plays a character named Surya. He thanked the producer and director for the opportunity.

The film also marks the debut of actor Khyathi, and she expressed happiness about her role. Actor Nikitha Swamy also shared her excitement about being part of a strong character. Bigg Boss fame Neethu and Ballari’s Chandini spoke about their respective roles.

Senior actors Raghuramanakoppa, Deepak Shetty and Vijay Chendoor also outlined their characters. Cinematographer Swamy, music director Manjukavi, lyricist Kinnal Raj, background score is by composer Pradyothan, and choreography is by Jaggu Master. The film's story is written by Dayashankar and together they spoke about their contributions and the collaborative effort behind Shikhandi.

Shikhandi now moves into its final phase and the makers will soon lock the release date.
