Kannada cinema’s growing appetite for suspense-led storytelling continues with Sarkari Shaale H8, fronted by Bigg Boss winner Gilli Nata. The mystery thriller is slated for a statewide theatrical release on February 6.

Written and directed by Guna Hariyabbe, the film revolves around a mysterious idol that serves as the narrative’s core. The story is said to progress through a trail of suspense, while gradually peeling back the film’s underlying secrets. Guna Hariyabbe, who also appears in a pivotal role, attempts to strike a balance between genre-driven thrills and emotional depth.

Backed by Tejaswini S under the Girichandra Productions banner, Sarkari Shaale H8 has been shot across multiple locations, including Bengaluru, Chitradurga, Sira and Shivamogga. The varied landscapes are expected to lend authenticity and visual texture to the film, complementing its suspense-heavy tone.

The film’s music is composed by Vijeth Manjiah, featuring three songs that blend into the narrative. Adding an interesting touch to the soundtrack, comedian Sharan and Mehboob Saab have each lent their voices to individual tracks, with lyrics by Nagendra Prasad. The technical team includes cinematographers Ravi Ramdurg and Venus Murthy, while Raviteja CH has handled editing.

Apart from Gilli Nata, the film brings together a diverse ensemble cast including Guna Hariyabbe, Meghashree and folk artiste Mohan in significant roles. Veteran actor Raghavendra Rajkumar further strengthens the cast, alongside Suchendra Prasad, Jagappa, Nawaz, Sushmitha Jagappa, Kaddi Vishwa, Jyothiraj and Namratha.

With suspense thrillers steadily carving a niche among audiences, Sarkari Shaale H8 enters the fray with a premise anchored in mystery and a character-driven narrative. As the film heads to theatres this week, it will look to engage viewers.
