Jayamala marks her second term as President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce

Actor Jayamala has been elected as the President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) in the elections held on January 31. She defeated former Chamber President BM Harish in a closely watched contest. Jayamala received 512 out of 843 votes cast.

This will be Jayamala's second term as President, she first served in 2008. Jayamala is known for her long-standing contributions to Kannada cinema.

The elections saw enthusiastic participation from actors, producers, distributors, exhibitors, and technicians. Kannada film personalities like Shivarajkumar, Dhananjaya, and Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar were among those who cast their votes.

Alongside the President, other key positions in the Chamber were also elected. Sundar Raj (Producer), K Manju (Distributor), and Kishore (Exhibitor) were elected as Honorary Vice Presidents. The Secretary positions were won by A Ganesh (Producer), Ramesh (Distributor), and Ashok (Exhibitor), while Jayasimha Musuri was elected Treasurer.

In her brief address, Jayamala thanked the voters and organizers. She emphasised her commitment to advancing the Chamber.

Jayamala’s experience as an actress and her deep understanding of the industry are expected to help promote collaboration, support filmmakers, and tackle important issues affecting the community.
