Kichcha Sudeep will not be celebrating his birthday this year and will not be available at home to meet fans on September 2. In a note addressed to his followers, on social media, the multi talented stars cites personal reasons for his decision and asks them to understand and respect his request.
Sudeep says there are several reasons behind his decision not to celebrate his birthday this year and hopes his fans will take the request in the right spirit. He also makes it clear that he will not be available at home for the usual fan gatherings.
Instead, he asks his fans to celebrate from wherever they are and send their blessings from there.
For Sudeep, September 2 is just another date. What has made it special over the years is the affection and celebrations surrounding it. For three decades, his fans have marked the occasion with him, making it an important part of his association with them.
“Your admiration and passionate love are something I can never thank you enough for,” Sudeep writes.
Looking back at his career, he acknowledges the support he has received across his films, television appearances, Bigg Boss and other programmes. The applause, whistles and affection, he says, have remained constant through different phases of his career.
“Whatever I have done, whether it is cinema, Bigg Boss or any other programme, the love you have shown me has been immense,” he says.
Sudeep refers to this affection as his “Shri Raksha”, describing the love of his fans as a source of strength and protection through the years.
This year, however, he wants his fans to mark the occasion without coming to his home. He encourages them to celebrate in their respective towns and regions, saying that the celebrations they hold wherever they are will themselves be a blessing that stays with him.
The request is also about respecting his personal reasons. While Sudeep will not be meeting fans on his birthday this year, he makes it clear that his decision does not change the bond he shares with them.
He ends his note on that reassurance, reminding fans that they will meet again.
“We will meet. Can anybody separate us?” he asks.
For Sudeep, there may be no birthday gathering at home this year. But his message to his fans is that distance on one occasion cannot change a relationship built over three decades.
Sudeep’s birthday comes just days before his return to television with Bigg Boss Kannada 13, which is set to premiere on September 6 on Colors Kannada. On the film front, he is working on Billa Ranga Baasha (BRB), directed by Anup Bhandari, which is his next major film project.
