Dhruva Sarja-starrer KD: The Devil, directed by Prem was released in theatres on April 30 and is now available to stream online. While KD: The Devil has moved beyond its theatrical run, Nora Fatehi’s latest comments have brought the controversy around 'Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke' back into focus, with the actor alleging that the backlash may have been deliberately fuelled.

Nora has now opened up about the controversy surrounding the song, claiming that social media influencers were allegedly paid to target it even before its full release.

Speaking on the Dream With Dr Sheen podcast, Nora said she was not surprised by the backlash. The actor claimed that she has information about who allegedly paid the influencers and how much they were paid.

The song faced criticism over its lyrics and visuals, with the controversy gaining momentum after short portions of it surfaced online. Nora said the reaction was built around these snippets even before audiences had seen the complete song.

“I have the full information about who paid and how much,” Nora said while discussing the controversy.

The actor also spoke about the Kannada lyrics, which she said she did not understand. Since she does not know Kannada, Nora said she relied on what the team told her about the song. She also claimed that she was not asked for permission when the song was dubbed into Hindi.

The controversy eventually reached the National Commission for Women (NCW), before which Nora appeared on May 7. The hearing followed the criticism surrounding the song’s lyrics and visuals.
