The English trailer of the Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups will be released today, August 19, at 8:30 PM IST. It will premiere at 8:00 AM PST, 11:00 AM EST and 3:00 PM GMT, a week ahead of the film’s worldwide theatrical release on August 26. The film is arriving during the extended weekend, with the makers targeting a release across 12,000 screens globally.

Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, Toxic will also release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The English trailer comes as the makers step up promotions ahead of the film’s worldwide release.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is set in Goa in the years before its liberation from Portuguese rule. India has gained independence, but Goa remains under Portuguese control. In this setting, Raya, played by Yash, finds himself caught in a world of power, crime and shifting loyalties.

Yash plays two characters in the film, Raya and Ticket. The cast also includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The story follows Raya as he navigates questions of loyalty and morality, with his choices having consequences for those around him.

The Toxic English trailer is expected to offer a closer look at the characters and the period in which the story is set.

Produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash, the film is backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. It has compositions by Vishal Mishra, while Ravi Basrur is handling the background score. Rajeev Ravi is the cinematographer.
