Days after unveiling its trailer, the makers of the Yash-starrer Toxic have announced that the film will also release in IMAX when it hits theatres worldwide on August 26. The four-minute trailer offers a detailed look at Geetu Mohandas' film. Set in Goa's crime-ridden underworld, it centres on a fractured father-son relationship, with Yash playing dual roles. Rather than revealing the plot, the trailer introduces the film's world through its characters, action set pieces and striking visuals, leaving many of its biggest questions unanswered.
Yash returns to the big screen with Toxic after the blockbuster KGF films. The cast also includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. Produced by KVN Productions in association with Monster Mind Creations, the film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
Toxic also marks Yash's first collaboration with Geetu Mohandas. While the trailer reveals the central father-son conflict, the makers have chosen not to disclose much beyond that. The emotional friction between the two characters appears to drive the story, with the action unfolding around their fractured relationship rather than existing for spectacle alone.
With the IMAX release now confirmed, Toxic joins a growing list of Indian films opting for the premium format. The film will release worldwide on August 26, with IMAX screenings expected in select theatres alongside the standard release.
