Actor Yash took a light-hearted dig at rumours surrounding film productions while speaking at the trailer launch of his latest film, Toxic. Drawing a comparison between health scares and industry speculation, Yash said he keeps hearing about new diseases that he had never known existed. He then likened it to the way rumours spread around films during production.

"Nowadays, I keep hearing about a new disease or problem that I've never heard of before," he said. "Similarly, whenever a film starts shooting, every ten days people say the film has been dropped." mentioned Yash, who addressed the frequent speculation that follows large-scale productions.

Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, had been the subject of several reports during its production, including rumours about delays and changes to its schedule. Without referring to any specific report, Yash suggested that such speculation has become a common part of filmmaking.

Later in his speech, he praised producer Venkat K Narayana for placing his trust in the team throughout the film's long production schedule. Yash said that making a film is "like going to war", with challenges emerging constantly, and credited the producer for never questioning the team's commitment despite the scale and duration of the project.

Toxic made under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, releasing on August 26 stars Yash in multiple roles, with Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi, Rukmini Vasanth and Sudev Nair as part of the ensemble cast. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and to be released in multiple langauges.
