For Akshay Oberoi, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has been nothing short of a gift. Speaking at the film's trailer launch, the actor described it as one of the most rewarding experiences of his career. He credited the film's director Geetu Mohandas, led actor Yash and the entire team for believing in him and helping him grow as both an actor and a person.

Reacting to the trailer, Akshay admitted that it left him momentarily speechless. He said being part of a project of such scale, alongside a cast of respected actors, has been an unforgettable experience. More importantly, he said the film taught him a great deal about himself.

Turning to Yash, whom he affectionately addressed as "Boss", Akshay said he was "wildly inspired" by the star. Echoing producer Venkat K Narayana's remarks, he said the opportunity to simply watch and learn from the people around him has been invaluable. He also thanked Geetu Mohandas for believing in him, calling her faith in him "a gift" he could never replace.

Akshay revealed that he has been an admirer of Geetu's work for more than a decade. After watching Liars Dice in 2015, he even asked producer Ajay Rai to introduce him to the filmmaker, although the meeting never happened. His admiration only deepened after watching Moothon.

Years later, he received a call saying Geetu wanted to hear how he sounded in English. Realising she would also want to see him perform, Akshay prepared a scene from The Godfather and recorded an audition, knowing she would be watching it.

A few days later came the call that changed everything. Akshay said he learnt he had been cast in Geetu Mohandas' next project. At that point, he did not even know the film was Toxic. He was simply overwhelmed that a filmmaker he had admired for years had seen his work and wanted him in her film. The news, he recalled, left him screaming with joy in his room.
