After spending the past few years experimenting with different genres, Komal Kumar is returning to familiar territory, but with a fresh spin. His upcoming film Rolex, a blend of comedy and thriller, has cleared the censor board with a U/A certificate, paving the way for its theatrical release in the coming weeks. The title is also bound to catch attention, having become synonymous with Suriya's iconic character in Vikram. While the Kannada film has no connection to Lokesh Kanagaraj's cinematic universe, the familiar name is certain to spark curiosity among moviegoers.

The Regional Censor Board has reportedly praised the film as a wholesome entertainer, with the makers highlighting that Rolex is suitable for family audiences despite its suspense-driven premise. The film attempts to strike a balance between edge-of-the-seat thrills and Komal's trademark comic timing, a combination that has worked well for the actor in the past.

One of the biggest talking points ahead of the release has been Komal's makeover. Promotional material has showcased the actor in a stylish new avatar, generating curiosity among fans eager to see him in a character that appears more polished while retaining his comic charm.

Directed by Srinivas Mandya and produced by Ambati Madhu Mohan under the Madhu Film Circuits banner, Rolex stars Sonal Monteiro as the female lead. Actor Vinod Prabhakar plays a special role, while the supporting cast features several seasoned performers.

Speaking about the film, director Srinivas Mandya said the entire team came together to deliver an entertainer packed with humour and suspense. He expressed confidence that audiences across age groups would enjoy the film in theatres.

The technical crew includes composer Jassie Gift, who has scored four songs for the film, cinematographer Rakesh C. Tilak, editor Aravind Raj, creative head Rajesh Varma, and executive producer Murali Krishna.

With censor formalities now complete, the makers are expected to announce the film's release date soon.
