Kannada ZEE5’s upcoming original series Jerax, directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, brings actor-producer Daali Dhananjaya on board as producer under Daali Pictures.

Jerax, which has drawn attention from its title itself. The series is set in the Mandya–Mysuru belt and follows Prakash, a xerox shop owner whose life changes after he discovers he has unusual powers. The story stays rooted in everyday life before slipping into something unusual.

For Nagabhushana, who is the lead, Jerax marks another move in his rise as a steady presence in Kannada entertainment. From short-form comedy videos to films like Ikkat, Tagaru Palya, Vidyapati and Honeymoon, he has built a clear identity through simple humour and controlled performance.

The series continues ZEE5’s focus on Kannada stories based in familiar locations and everyday characters, while also allowing space for slightly unusual storytelling ideas.

Nagabhushana said, “Jerax is unlike anything I have done so far. It is unpredictable and keeps changing as it moves forward. The world feels familiar in parts and strange in others. That mix made it interesting to work on. I am glad Kannada ZEE5 is open to different kinds of stories.”

The announcement also adds to Dhananjaya’s growing work as a producer, choosing projects driven by ideas and rooted settings.
