Audiences received a Dasara treat as the devotional track 'Nammamma Savadatti Ellamma' from the upcoming family entertainer Marutha was unveiled recently, and was accompanied by a neatly edited trailer.
Directed by Dr S Narayan and produced under Eesha Productions by K Manju and Ramesh Yadav, Marutha stars Duniya Vijay, Shreyas Manju, and Brinda Acharya in lead roles. The song, written and composed by Narayan himself, is sung by Ananya Bhat and features Brinda Acharya. It was released on the Jhankar Music YouTube channel, marking a special Navaratri celebration.
Speaking at the launch, Director Narayan paid tribute to the late literary legend SL Bhyrappa as he discussed on the film:
"Just like an engine drives a train, our film needed a very important role to be played by a key artist. That role has been portrayed by Duniya Vijay. Vijay has acted wonderfully. The performances of Shreyas Manju and Brinda Acharya are also very good. Our film further features a huge star cast including Tara, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Kalyani, Sharath Lohitashwa, Pramod Shetty, Sujay Shastri, and many senior artistes. Crazy Star Ravichandran has appeared in a guest role. Marutha is a family entertainer that has everything the audience looks for. Not just that, it also carries a strong message for the youth. While social media has its uses, it poses greater dangers. Parents need to pay more attention to the younger generation in this regard. The song released today has also come out very well. Releasing this during Navaratri is special. The movie will hit theatres on October 31."
Producer K. Manju added, "The true hero of a film is its producer. This is my third collaboration with S. Narayan and Duniya Vijay. Along with my friend Ramesh Yadav, we have produced this movie under the Eesha Productions banner. The director has chosen a story that conveys a strong social message. My son Shreyas has also acted in this film. Out of love for me, Duniya Vijay, Ravichandran, and many senior artistes have acted in this movie. The shooting of just one song—‘Nammamma Savadatti Ellamma’—cost nearly 65 lakhs. It has turned out lavishly on screen. The movie will be released on October 31."
"I am very happy to have co-produced a film with K Manju that gives a good message to society," said co-producer, Ramesh Yadav.
Brinda Acharya reflecting on her performance said, "Director S Narayan is known for his discipline and restraint. I learned a lot while working on this film. The song’s lyrics are powerful, and the music and singing have added even more energy to it. We shot the song ‘Nammamma Devi Yellamma’ in a short time. I used to practice both at home and in the studio for the dance. Mohan master’s choreography was excellent, and Ananya Bhat’s singing brought even more intensity to the performance. This song comes at an emotional point in the film, explaining the struggles my character is going through."
