Rona, set for release on November 7, had its trailer released by Chief Minister’s Media Advisor K Prabhakar, at a launch event. Produced under BRK Productions, the film presents a story that weaves together rural relationships, science, religion, and politics.

Prabhakar appreciated the dedication of theatre artists from rural areas, noting the enthusiasm behind the project. “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has watched the trailer and extended his best wishes to the team. I also wish them success. The trailer is engaging, and the music is commendable,” he said.

Rona marks the directorial debut of Satish Kumar, a nine-year industry veteran with experience in documentaries and assistant direction. “The script was revised 13 times before finalising. It is a father-son story set in a village, blending friendship, love, science, religion, and politics. We shot the film over 65 days in Hoskote and other locations, and it has come together as envisioned,” he said.

Actor-producer Raghu Raj Nanda, who also stars in the film, thanked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and K Prabhakar for their support. He credited his theatre mentors, Sadashiva Neenasam and Malur Vijay, for their guidance and involvement. “After acting in a minor role in Kere Bete, I decided to produce and act in a film myself. The trailer and the Devi song have received a good response, and the promotional campaign is progressing. We hope audiences will watch and encourage the film,” he added.

The female lead, Prakruthi Prasad described her role as a city-educated girl visiting a village, confronting incidents that explore father-daughter relationships alongside themes of religion and science.

Supporting cast includes Sharath Lohitashwa, Malur Vijay, Chillar Manju, Balrajwadi, Sangeetha Anil, Geetha, Hitesh Abhishek Arya, Vinod, Darshan Shetty, and Manoj Kumar. The film’s technical team features Arun Kumar (cinematography), Gnanesh B Mathad (editing), and Gagan Baderiya (music), with lyrics by V Nagendra Prasad, Chetan Kumar, and Kinnal Raj.
