Kichcha Sudeep, who has been a close friend and mentor to Chandan Kumar, launched the trailer of the actor’s directorial debut Flirt, making the event memorable for fans and the film fraternity. Flirt is a romantic comedy produced under the Everest Pictures banner, starring Chandan Kumar himself in the lead, with Nimika Ratnakar and Akshata Bopanna as the female leads. Carrying the tagline “A Pure Love Story”, the film is slated for a theatrical release on November 7.
At the launch, Sudeep also lent his voice to the friendship-themed song Nee Nanna Jeeva, highlighting the camaraderie between the two friends. Speaking about Chandan’s journey, Sudeep said, “I know the nervousness of stepping into direction myself. Chandan is one of our own, and it is inspiring to see him grow. I have seen the film, and it is really well made. The story has depth, and the characters connect.”
Chandan Kumar, visibly grateful, spoke about Sudeep’s constant support. “From the day I first met him on Bigg Boss, ten years ago on October 25, Sudeep sir has been there through it all, from CCL and Prema Baraha to launching our restaurant. Flirt celebrates friendship, love, and every form of affection that shapes our lives. Even the term ‘flirt’ represents deeper emotions, not just playful teasing. Each character carries significance, and the story also includes a psycho element to keep audiences engaged.”
Sudeep’s presence added extra charm to the event, which was attended by the cast and crew. Veteran actor Avinash appears as a judge, while Nimika Ratnakar, Girish Shivanna, and Vinay Gowda discussed their respective roles. Director A.P. Arjun and actor Sunil Rao also extended their best wishes to Chandan.
Musically, the film combines Nakul Abhyankar’s composition for Nee Nanna Jeeva with Jassie Gift handling the remaining three songs and the background score. Cinematography is by H.C. Venu, and senior actors Shruti and Sadhu Kokila play key roles.
