Suresh Mallaiah's streak with action continues with Kantara: Chapter 1. The editor, who worked on Rishab Shetty's historical drama, also worked on Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare.

In an interview with CE, Suresh said, "When Rishab saw my work at the first edit, on action sequences, he was impressed. That was enough for me to give my whole heart to the project."

Speaking about the film, the editor said, "Rishab always had a structure in mind. He would narrate clearly, and after each draft, he’d shuffle and tweak. Over time, I understood his rhythm. The challenge was to reduce corrections, to get closer to his vision. That’s where I grew the most."

Kantara: Chapter 1 is written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, and has gone on to perform very well at the box office, including becoming the highest grossing Indian film in Australia.
