Roopesh Shetty, the Bigg Boss Kannada winner and one of coastal Karnataka’s most popular faces, is ready to bring his next directorial and acting venture Jai to theatres on November 14. The bilingual film, made in Kannada and Tulu, stars Roopesh alongside Adhvithi Shetty and features Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty in a pivotal role.

The release date announcement came through the launch of the romantic track 'Love You', unveiled by real-life couples from the film industry including Gurukiran and his wife, Niranjan Deshpande and his wife, Vinay Gowda and his wife, Roopesh Rajanna and his wife, and Aaryavardhan Guruji and his wife.

The 'Love You' song, considered the emotional centre of Jai, took months of refinement. The team worked through five versions before locking the sixth, aiming for a melody that perfectly balanced emotion and rhythm. Sung by Rajat Hegde, the final track was chosen for its heartfelt tone and lyrical depth. Roopesh penned the lyrics for the Tulu version, while Keerthan Bhandari adapted them for the Kannada release.

Adhvithi Shetty plays a journalist in the film — her debut in Tulu cinema — while the project marks a significant step for Roopesh, who has been bridging both Kannada and Tulu industries with consistent success.

Backed by RS Cinemas, Shoolin Films, and Mugrodi Productions, Jai is co-written by Roopesh Shetty and Venu Hasralli, with dialogues by Prasanna Shetty Bailur. The technical team includes cinematographer Vinuth, music composer Loy Valentine Saldanha, and editor Rahul Vasishta.
