Kantara: Chapter 1 had an exclusive screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan

In a momentous honour for regional cinema, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 was screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The film, which has been dominating the the box office and captured the hearts of audiences across the country, and overseas received a special three-show screening in New Delhi on October 5, running from 10 AM to 9 PM.

This marked a rare moment of national recognition for a Kannada-language film deeply rooted in folklore, divinity, and cultural heritage.

Since its release on October 2, Kantara: Chapter 1 has been rewriting box office records, with housefull shows reported across major states. The film has drawn widespread praise from fans and industry stalwarts alike — including Prabhas, Jr NTR, and Yash, who have publicly applauded Rishab Shetty’s visionary storytelling.

This special screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan was more than ceremonial — it represented a symbolic breakthrough for regional cinema, transcending language and geographic boundaries to earn a place at the highest cultural table.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films, Kantara: Chapter 1 directed by, and starring Rishab Shetty, who returns with his signature storytelling rooted in folklore and spiritual mysticism. The film features a powerful ensemble cast including Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah.

The music is composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath, and striking visuals are captured by cinematographer Arvind S Kashyap has editing done by Suresh Mallaiah.
