Earlier today, Rukmini Vasanth, the star of Kantara: Chapter 1, took to X to warn people that an individual is impersonating her and "reaching out to various people under false pretenses" with a fake phone number. The actor even mentioned the phone number, which the fraudulent party uses, and requested the public not to respond to any messages or calls from it. "This act of impersonation falls under cybercrime and appropriate action is being taken against those involved in such fraudulent and misleading activities," she wrote.

Despite Rukmini Vasanth mentioning the number, there is always the possibility of the individual using a different number for these kinds of fraudulent practices. Maybe this explains why Rukmini also asked the public to approach her or her team of public relations "for any clarification or verification" that might arise in such situations.

"Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation. Stay alert and safe online," Rukmini wrote. She also tagged Bengaluru City Police and Cybercrime CID in the post. Immediately after Rukmini's message on X, Bengaluru City Police reiterated it and asked people to report any such instances at a police station nearby to initiate the necessary course of action from law enforcement.
