Director, producer, and writer Venkat Bharadwaj, who had two theatrical releases in 2025, Hyena (January 31) and Hey Prabhu (November 7), is now gearing up for his next film. Titled Rakky, the film is a crime thriller that is expected to be a vibrant mix of style, energy, and entertainment. The film is produced by Suresh Saligrama under SNR Productions and is supported by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar.

The journey of Rakky began in March 2025, when Bharadwaj narrated two story ideas to Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar. After her approval, the film was finalised and went through seven rounds of detailed script and dialogue revisions before shooting began on October 27, 2025, says Venkat. He has wrapped up the talkie portions, and two songs are scheduled for filming soon, while dubbing and post-production are currently underway.

Rakky Suresh, who plays the titular role, leads the cast, supported by an ensemble including B Suresha, Sampath Maitraye, Harini Srikant, Ashika Somashekar, Pallavi Manjunath, and GG, along with a strong technical team. Venkat Bharadwaj has also shared the first few stills of the lead hero, giving audiences an early glimpse of its tone and style and the character arc of the actor, who is making his debut with this film. Leading the film's female cast are Ashika Somashekar and Pallavi Manjunath.

A first promotional drop is expected to showcase a unique youth-oriented dance step, says the director. Venkat Bharadwaj is targeting a summer 2026 release and believes the film will appeal to audiences of all ages.
