Mumbai’s monsoon is no deterrent for Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups. While most productions might wait out the rains, Yash and director Geetu Mohandas are leaning into the storm—literally—mounting one of the most ambitious action schedules. At the center of the spectacle is JJ Perry, the Hollywood stunt veteran, best known for John Wick, Fast and Furious, and Day Shift. Perry is midway through a 45-day shoot in Mumbai with an Indian stunt team. Perry says, “This Indian crew is world-class. That’s precisely why I chose to work with them. We’re tackling a massive sequence right now. It’s complex and dangerous, that’s what excites me. These artists are meeting the challenge head-on, and together we’re pushing boundaries.” The sequence—months in the making—has been meticulously planned through storyboards, previs, and rehearsals. Perry credits the grand scale and collaborative spirit to Yash, Geetu, producer Venkat K Narayana, and the VFX team. “Yash is not just a superstar, he’s deeply collaborative. Geetu has such a unique vision, and Venkat has been the anchor who makes it all possible,” says Perry.

For the action choreographer, who has worked in nearly 40 countries, Toxic represents more than just spectacle. “In 35 years of doing this, I’ve rarely seen this kind of creative courage. Indian cinema is bold and artistic,” he reflects. “From cinematographer Rajeev Ravi to the art department, the team here is fantastic. Honestly, working with Yash and Geetu has been a career highlight.” Apart from Yash, the star-studded ensemble cast also includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Akshay Oberoi. Toxic is being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. “India’s culture is ancient and layered,” Perry notes. “

As an American, blending global cinematic grammar with Indian storytelling has been thrilling. I don’t just want to replicate Hollywood action; I want to create something unique. And Toxic is giving me that chance.” Jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups opens worldwide on March 19, 2026.
