Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda recently inaugurated Harshini Cinemas, a new production house founded by Latashree DC, the daughter of former MLA Dr Devanand Chavan. Hailing from the Vijayapura district, Latashree is excited to step into the Kannada film scene with a focus on impactful storytelling. Her vision is to produce significant Kannada films, and she has joined the bandwagon of politicians and their families becoming involved as producers, actors, and distributors in cinema. The production house will mark its debut with Kirunage, directed by Ashok Kadaba, which is described as an emotional drama centered around a female lead.

Kirunage follows a young woman who, despite her outwardly bright demeanour, sacrifices her own happiness for her parents. The film explores the enigma behind her smile and uncovers the deep emotions hidden beneath the surface. This female-centric subject is helmed by director Ashok Kadaba, who has previously worked on Satyam. The script is penned by Latashree herself, with Ashok Kadaba contributing to it. Music for the film will be composed by Sukrut.

The makers are yet to begin shooting, and the film is set to feature a well-known Kannada actor in the lead role, though details about the cast remain under wraps.
