Director Chandrasekhar Bandiyappa has wrapped up the first schedule of shooting for his upcoming film Chowkidar, including a 10-day shoot in the Andaman-Nicobar Islands. This picturesque location provided a dramatic backdrop for the film.

Chowkidar, produced by Dr Kallahalli Chandra Shekhar under Vidyashekhar Entertainment, is set to be a pan-India film featuring Pruthvi Ambaar, Dhanya Ramkumar, and Saikumar in the lead roles. Pruthvi Ambaar of Dia fame makes a significant shift from his usual romantic roles, taking on a more rugged and intense character in Chowkidar, which adds a fresh edge to his screen persona. The film’s music is composed by Sachin Basrur, with lyrics by V Nagendra Prasad, Pramod Maravanthe, and Santhosh Naik.

Chandrasekhar Bandiyappa, known for his work on Rathavara, is directing Chowkidar, his first multilingual project. Interestingly, Chowkidar is only the second Kannada film to have been extensively shot in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The first was Dr. Shivarajkumar’s Andaman, released in 1998 and directed by P H Vishwanath.
