V Gowthaman's Maaveeraa undergoes a title change

The new title was revealed along with a second-look poster of the film, which shows Gowthaman walking in front of a temple car and surrounded by festivities

We had reported that filmmaker V Gowthaman will be helming and playing the lead in a new film titled Maaveeraa, but the makers of the film have revealed that the project has undergone a title change and henceforth will be called Padaiyaanda Maaveeraa

The new title was revealed along with a second-look poster of the film, which shows Gowthaman walking in front of a temple car and surrounded by festivities. Notably director V Gowthaman, previously made Kanave Kalaiyadhe (1998) starring Murali and Simran, and Magizhchi (2010), starring himself and Anjali in thelad.  Maaveera has music by GV Prakash and lyrics by Vairamuthu. The film produced by V.K Production Group has cinematography by Vetrivel Mahendran. 

In a previously released statement, Gowthaman had shared that the film will document many untold history of the Tamil people. "My lifetime goal is to tell the world about the history of the heroes who lived in Santhanakadu, Mundhirikadu, and Vannikadu regions, in an uncompromised manner. Padaiyaanda Maaveeraa is an epic story of a real hero who protected the land and honour," he said.
