Amrutha Iyengar and Dhananjay, who have previously collaborated for Suri’s Popcorn Monkey Tiger and Badava Rascal, will be seen together once again in Gurudev Hoysala.  “In a commercial film, the heroines mostly are relegated to playing the hero’s love interest and feature in a couple of songs. However, in Gurudev Hoysala, I play a Bharatanatyam teacher, and Gurudev’s wife. I have a prominent role in the film, and my scenes with Dhananjay will be interesting, and blend well with the story “ says Amrutha.

About working in back-to-back films with Dhananjay, Amrutha says, “Our pairing worked well in Badava Rascal, and the audience too wanted to see us back together on screen.”

Meanwhile, Amrutha also has Abbabba, directed by K M Chaitanya, and Arvind Krupalikar’s next with Sharan, in her lineup. “Honestly, playing the waiting game and choosing the right scripts is a bit taxing, but ultimately, I want to explore more stories and characters, and can’t wait to star in interesting projects,” she says.
