The first official trailer for the pan-Indian Kannada romance film Banaras has been released online. The film is written and directed by Jayatheertha, who is known for films like Beautiful Manasugalu and Bell Bottom. Banaras stars Zaid Khan and Sonal Monteiro in the lead roles and reportedly revolves in and around locations in Kashi, making it the first South Indian Film to be shot entirely in Uttar Pradesh.

The music for the film is composed by Ulidavaru Kandanthe fame Ajaneesh Loknath. The cast list for the film also includes Sujay Shastry, Devaraj, Achyuth Kumar, Barkath Ali, and Sapna Raj in supporting roles. The cinematography for the film is done by Advaitha Gurumurthy, known for films like Kiraak Party and Premier Padmini.

The film has been dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Banaras is produced by Tilakraj Ballal along with Muzammil Ahmed Khan. The film is currently scheduled for a pan-Indian theatrical release on 4 November.
