Recently. there were widespread reports about the third chapter of KGF going on floors this year. In a recenet media interaction, Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, the producer of KGF, had hinted that the third installment of the Pan-Indian film franchise will begin after October and hit screens in 2024.

However, Karthik Gowda, the film's executive producer has now clarified that Hombale Films has many other exciting projects and that KGF 3 will not be starting anytime soon.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, the two KGF films starred Yash as the dreaded gangster Rocky, who rises from rags to riches. The first film, KGF: Chapter 1, emerged as a huge blockbuster in 2018.

The second film, KGF: Chapter 2, was released on April 14 to overwhelmingly positive reviews and has grossed over Rs 1170 crores worldwide. The film, which is still continuing its dream run, became the third highest-grossing Indian film, only next to Dangal and Baahubali: The Conclusion.

Hombale Films meanwhile has Prabhas' Salaar, Rishab Shetty's Kantaara, Sriimurali's Bagheera, Rakshit Shetty's Richard Anthony, the launch vehicle of Rajkumar's grandson Yuva Rajkuma and untitled project with director Sudha Kongara lined up.
