Pedro, directed by Natesh Hegde, has been receiving good reviews. However, the critically-acclaimed film, backed by actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty, was not picked up for screening at this year's Bengaluru International Film Festival. This seems to have disappointed Rishab Shetty, who has penned a long post expressing his dismay.

He wrote, "We are all overwhelmed by the response to the Pedro trailer. This was a project we began to work on a year ago, and since then we have been receiving good feedback for the film. Our motive has always been to present films with good narratives, and the making of Pedro has been appreciated by well-known filmmakers like M S Sathyu, Girish Kasaravalli, Kavitha Lankesh, and Vivek Shanbagh among others. Pedro has received accolades at several prestigious International Film Festivals. However, it came as a surprise that our film was not picked at this year's BIFFEs. It is apparently learnt that some forces have tried to prevent the screening. We take it with a pinch of salt. Having said that, we will soon release Pedro."

Pedro, which marks the debut of Natesh Hegde’s, is about an electrician. The film, starring Gopal Hegde, Ramakrishna Bhat Dundi, and Raj B Shetty in the lead roles, was part of the Busan and London film festivals.
