The First look trailer for Hirokazu Koreeda’s upcoming film Monster has been released online. Koreeda is best known for making films like Nobody Knows,, Still Walking, and After the Storm. He has won the Cannes Film Festival for his 2013 film Like Father, Like Son and won the Palme d'Or for Shoplifters at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

The upcoming film is based on a screenplay written by Yuji Sakamoto, who is best known for films like We Made a Beautiful Bouquet, Yûri, and Crying Out Love in the Center of the World. The ensemble cast of the film includes Sakura Ando, Eita Nagayama, Soya Kurokawa, Hinata Hiiragi, Mitsuki Takahata, Akihiro Kakuta, Shidô Nakamura.

This is the second film to be not written by Koreeda, the last film he directed based on someone else's screenplay was Maborosi. The film is currently scheduled to release on June 2, 2023.
