Lana Condor is set to join the third season of creator Jenny Han's Netflix series XO, Kitty, a spin-off of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before films. XO, Kitty season 3 will see Condor reprising her role as Lara Jean Song-Covey from the films, and she will be part of multiple episodes. Featuring Valentina Garza as the showrunner, writer and executive producer, it reunites the actor with Anna Cathcart, her To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before co-star.
Cathcart stars in the series as Kitty Song-Covey, who is Lara Jean Song Covey's (Lana Condor) matchmaking sister. Han's novels formed the basis for the films, which inspired the show. Han announced Condor's casting with a video on Instagram. In the video, Sang Heon Lee, who plays Min-ho Moon in the series, appears and calls Covey, and both Condor and Cathcart turn back to him. "I don't have to be so afraid of good-bye, because good-bye doesn't have to be forever." Our Lara Lean is back!!," reads the caption for the video.
Condor expressed her elation to come back to the series and reunite with Cathcart. Describing Cathcart's work on XO, Kitty as "amazing," she told Netflix, "It’s such a dream to be able to work with her again. I feel really excited and happy and honoured I get to be back."
In XO, Kitty season 3, Kitty goes back to pursue her last year at Korean Independent School of Seoul. There, Kitty creates meaningful memories alongside her friends as she gets closer with her family in Korea, as well as making big calls regarding her future. "She’s going to define her relationship with Min Ho. For real this time. But when surprise revelations throw her plans — and relationships — off course, Kitty will have to learn to embrace the unexpected," reads the official description from Netflix.
XO, Kitty season 3 is slated for an April 02 release on Netflix. Meanwhile, its trailer is expected to release on March 09, Monday.
