Park Chan-wook's No Other Choice wraps filming

The story revolves around Man Soo (Lee), who is determined to find a new job and deals with every obstacle in his pursuit

Veteran Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook, who is best known for films like Trio, Oldboy, Thirst and Stoker, announced that he has wrapped the filming of No Other Choice, starring Squid Game-fame Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin.

Backed by Moho Film, No Other Choice went on floors in August 2024, with a five-month schedule. Lee and Son are joined by Moving-fame Park Hee-soon, The Spy Gone North-fame Lee Sung Min, The Uprising-fame Cha Seung-won, Hospital Playlist-fame Yoo Yeon-seok, and The Glory-fame Yeom Hye-ran. The upcoming film is based on the 1997 Donald Westlake novel The Ax. The story revolves around Man Soo (Lee), who is determined to find a new job and deals with every obstacle in his pursuit.

It is worth noting that Park shared his interest in adapting Westlake's novel back in 2009 during the Busan International Film Festival. The novel has already been adapted by Z and Missing director Costa-Gavras into a French film titled The Axe in 2005.
